Settings activation
Before setting up Bluetooth on your Android phone, you will have to enable the appropriate module, because if it is switched off, you will not be able to manage it. To do this, follow these steps:
- Go to the smartphone settings.
- Choose «Bluetooth».
- To activate it, move the slider at the top right corner. Then you will see a list of found devices and their operations.
Setting the name
In this paragraph, we will explain how you can set the name of Bluetooth in Android smartphone. Other devices will be able to find you by this name.
- Once you have activated the module, click "Options" in the same window to display additional menu.
- Select "Edit phone name".
- In the opened window come up and write the name of your device.
- Click "Save".
Note: This name will also be displayed if you will connect to the PC via USB, during the detection via Wi-Fi, or when viewing the data on your phone via Google Account.
Detection management
Once you have identified the name, you have to allow other devices to find your smartphone.
- To do this, in the main settings window you need to check the box next to the name you specified.
After these steps, you will see the timer with the countdown at the bottom. After the time, the flag will disappear automatically, and if necessary, you will need to put it again to enable the detection.However, you can change the duration of the timer or turn it off completely, in order to always be detected if the wireless module is activated.To do this, follow these steps:
- Click "Options".
- Go to the "Detection time".
- Select the desired interval for automatic shutdown of the detection (2 minutes, 5 or 60), or choose "constantly".
Connected devices management
There is also an individual setup of the Bluetooth on Android, that is, you can configure the settings specifically for any device that has ever been in conjunction with your phone. To display the actions that can be performed on the needed device, it is necessary to:
1.Click the gear icon in front of the device.
Variants of settings can be different for different types of connected devices, but we will describe the most commonly used ones.
"Edit the name of the device" – this item is responsible for how this device will be displayed on your phone. You can rename it by any other name that is acceptable for you, and in the future, you will see exactly what you have written.
«Connection Access» – this item allows enabling the request of receipt confirmation if you receive files from the device, or automatically perform everything.
"Internet access" – if you want to use a connected Bluetooth device as an Internet modem, you have to put a check mark in this paragraph.
"Make an audio call" – If you have connected a wireless headset, this item enables or disables the broadcast of all calls to the headset speaker.
"Media audio Format" – this item is available when the stereo headset is paired, and it allows setting up AndroidBluetooth broadcast of all multimedia sounds to it.(Music, audio from the player, games, etc.).
Viewing the received files
You can view all files that you have ever received. This can be done as follows:
- In the main settings window, press "Options"

Click "Show received files" to display the entire history.
In this window, you can open and view files, if they are still in memory, or clear the entire history by clicking the "Options" / "Clear the history".
